Art/Technology/Looking for agent representation.

QuestionHow do you find an agent for a multi strength artist? I've looked and only find acting agents. My brother has his own business, sculpting, illustration, special effects make-up, costuming, and the like.... but we would like an agent to help. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time.
AnswerHello Carmen,
I am sorry to bring you these news:
The art world today is as any other market: very competitive. that means that agents and agencies are looking for highly specialized artists in the area. So my advice would be for a certain kind of specialization if you really want to get on the agent world. BUT and this is a big BUT for an artist to cut himself even one of his passions can be very hard and this is something that should be reflected upon.
Last, in terms of sculpture the best thing to do is to setup a well presented photo portfolio to art galleries. Art galleries function as well as agents and an artist can be a resident of that gallery - money negotiations will be involved and i will be happy to forward the details of these if necessary - and profit from that gallery's "ring" of influence on other galleries. It is a small world this one.
I wish you all the luck and please count on me for any furter questions.
Warmest regards,
Rowawn C., phD
