Artificial Intelligence/What to study for work on intelligent products?

Question
Between mechatronics engineering, computer engineering and computer science, I am wondering which is most suitable for the kind of job I want to get:
Details about me:
Good at programming, mathematics, maybe physics, problem solving.
Not too good on practical work, or so I believe.
Career-related interests: programming, fuzzy products (e.g. developing rules), artificial intelligence (robots), games.

To be specific, lets say I want to work on intelligent machines (possibly fuzzy, could be robot or common electronic) with more emphasis on the programming/computing/software side rather than building. If it makes any difference, I would be interested in working in Japan.

What should I study? (As far as I know, fuzzy logic, fuzzy computing and systems aren't conveniently available to specialize on in university. And the reason I'm mixed between the three mentioned degrees is that they all seem to contain only a part of what I like.)

Answer
Hi Victor,

my best bet would be computer engineering. You are correct by saying that none of the three degrees covers entirely what you like but i think that C.E. would cover the most area. You can of course later specialize on fuzzy logic and its applications by choosing suitable courses or fields (this actually depends on the school. Many schools provide thematic areas. I think that the area you want is "signals, control and robotics" which is mostly treated in electrical and computer engineering schools).

Expertise

I can answer most of the questions about the workings of a Fuzzy Logic machine, from the basics up to a certain advanced point.Questions regarding applications of Fuzzy systems intregrating with other technologies such as Neural Nets or Genetic Algorithms are propably out of my reach although, with some research,i could try to answer them(i have working knowledge of Neural Nets an Genetic Algorithms but i`m far from being consider an expert to these areas).

Experience

I have experience in Fuzzy Logic gained in projects i have been part of.The last project was a robotic vehicle that used a Fuzzy Logic path tracker which i designed.
