prosperous career.

George, i am currently an undergraduate student.
I am in the fifth semester of my computers course
and i am trying to develop a project related to image processing.

The domain of my project is "Optical Music Recognition System". I am currently learning the basics of image processing and applying on my project to complete it in the nick of time.

George, the purprose of mentioning all this is that, right now i've not much guidance available as it is completely my independent effort. I was very much confused to know about.

What basically are Projections?
Vertical and Horizontal Projections. I am developing this project in Java. If you can tell me the detail background of Projections of what they basically are i would be highly greatful to you. I am in deparate need of help right now. OR you can direct me to a good link where i can understand what basically projections are. Please if you can help with this query, i would be greatful.

I look forward to hear from you. If you can help me in this project in just theoratical domain i would be highly obliged. If you can give me your email address, i can send you the research report of my project so that you can have a look at it.

Projection is the way of projecting an object onto a surface. There are many types of projections. Actually, the study of projections is a mathematical area called "projective geometry". Here's a good link on projections. It studies many types and gives mathematical formulas for each one:
