Question Five years ago I bought a Mandarin composition doll (boy)at a thrift shop. It's about six inches tall,highly glazed, cuttest little face fine painted brows with indented pupil eyes having a white dot in the center. Glued human black hair-braids. Pink Gold Mandarin Costome with a beaded hat. The head, arms and legs are held with rubberband. I would like to know who's the maker. I can't find any marking. Thank youl

Can you get any Digital pictures of the doll?
The chances are good that this is just a souvenir dolls made over either a cork, papier mache, or sawdust clay and probabaly with a true gofun covering.
These dolls were popular for tourists and visitors to the thetre district from 1897 to 1963.
