Dear Expert:

I just opened an ebay store to sell my art. I noticed on other artist store sites their artwork is presented in photos of living space. Do you know what photo editing program they are using?

There are so many programs out there that I couldn't even begin to tell you what they all are let alone which one a particular person had used even with a background in graphic design.

I can tell you that Photoshop is generally used by professionals.

I would recommend taking pictures of your items with a digital camera in two settings.  One would be on a plain contrasting background such as black, white or gray to make the item stand out and show the details.  The second would be to show the item in use in it's natural setting such as a picture frame hanging on a wall or sitting on an end table with a lamp shining on it.

If you could send me links with pictures showing what you're talking about in action I might be able to make more suggestions on how you could recreate what they had done.
