AboutShasta McLaughlin Expertise I can answer many questions about the art and craft show industry. I can help with booth setup, advertising and marketing, increasing sales at shows, where to find shows, how to promote an art or craft show, and much more.
Experience I have always been an artist/craft person since I was a child selling crafts at shows with my mom. I have also promoted several craft shows, and publish a newsletter for artists and crafters.

Question This is for pin money only. If I paint a flower pot using a design from a craft book, does it fall in the "fair use" clause if I only make 10-12 to sell at my yard sale?
Answer Roxann,
It depends on the copyright stated on every pattern or craft book if you can or cannot sell the items at craft shows, yard sales, etc. It is unlikely that they will take you to court over selling a few at a yard sale, but you never can know what people will do. Some will want to sue you for every penny you have while others will write it off as flattery.
I recommend checking the copyright in every book you buy and keeping the ones with angel policies together. An angel policy means you can use their designs for sales although each one will have different policies on what is acceptable. Contact the company if the book doesn't state exactly what it's copyright policy is.
Have a nice day,
