Arts/Crafts Business/Starting out selling

Question
Hi Jane,

I've been interested in crafts for a while and love making things but would be interested on where would I start to sell items.

Would I need to make lots of things up in advance to sell online or just a few bits and make things to order?

Also is it worth making up my own website and what do you find tends to sell well, I'm in to lots of various crafts but unsure what would be the most profit making?

Thank you for all your help,

Kind regards

Amy

Answer
Hi Amy,

Thank you for your question. It is actually fairly complicated since there are so many variables depending on your product - your target market customers - are you going to sell directly to consumers or to stores (wholesale).

So much depends on your goals. How much money do you want to make - is this a side business?

With so many variables I would suggest getting my free report to get you started. It's available on www.design2marketsuccess.com - plus I have many different free articles there and on www.janebutton.com and another free download at www.craft2cash.com

As to your question on a website - YES, if you have a product you must have a website and a way that people can buy from you whether you sell wholesale or retail. People expect to find you there. You also need to have a presence on Facebook.

Again, your question is far reaching with many variables - so get started reading the articles, I think they will help you trememdously.

Love & Success!
