Arts/Crafts for Kids/Help! Homemade birthday gift!
Expert: Laura - 12/2/2010
QuestionHi. My mums birthday is in 12 days. I really want to make her something special this year, but I have looked and looked for the right thing and I just can't find it. I know my Mum will appreciate anything, but I want her to be REALLY SURPRISED when I give her a lovely homemade gift. I don't want to give her homemade jewelery, or any baking goods. I just want to craft something simple but unique and speacial, without having to buy too many more supplies. Currently, I have glitter-almost all colours, PVA glue, cellotape, scissors, wool, paints, paper-many different colours, a little drop card, but I don't want to use that unless I really have to, pens and pencils and some stickers. I will also have cardboard soon. Please help me!! I'm 13 by the way, so don't make it too complicated!!! Thanks alot.
AnswerHi Caitlyn!
Thanks for the question!
Here are a couple suggestions:
- I know you said you didn't want a baking good but cookies in a jar are a great easy useful gift and you will be able to decorate your jar with the supplies you listed above. Heres a link to a site about this project.

-Making a scrapbook page with a couple pictures is another great idea.
