Expert: don`t ask me - 8/29/2002

Hi Tara,
I have a 6 year old son.  I have absolutely no artistic talent what so ever!  I can't draw a stick man. But my son is very interested in art so when he asks me to draw something, I feel inadequate. What can I do?

if you can't draw very well, then let your son know that. it may actually help him feel better about having a talent. another good thing is to ask him to teach you how to draw. or if he wants you to draw together with him, tell him that he is the better one at drawing, and you would rather color, or somehting like that. i'm sure he isn't too upset about it, and i hope these ideas help you a bit.                                              ~tara
