Arts/Crafts for Kids/Making a dry chalkboard work

Question
Hello MaryAnn:   I am a volunteer at another allexpert site (banrkutpcy, credit issues) but I don't know beans about arts and crafts and I was hoping that you could help me with this question.  I have one of those dry chalkboards where you use one of those sort of like magic marker things and can then easily wipe off the markings with that special eraser that they have.   I had put the days of the week on there with a regular magic marker so it would be more permanent, but then later on I changed plans and removed that (I had to use one of those things that are used to clean dishes with - kind of like a sponge scrubber deal).  However, the spot that I removed it from will now not work with the regular eraser for the dry chalkboard.  I think I rubbed off the special coating.   Do you have nay idea what that coating is - is there any way I can fix my chalkboard so it is restored like it was?   Thanks for any help you might provide.

Answer
Hi, John. Well, I mayh love art and working with kids, but I have ZERO idea about how to help you. I simply have no experience with this.

If it were me, I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot and ask a sales clerk for help...or better yet, I would write/call/email to the manufacturer of the white board. Someone can surely help you there! Me? I'm worthless on this one!!!
