About Stoop
Expertise
I have extensive experience working with children, and enjoy creating craft projects families can do together. Through the years, I have experimented with many different craft techniques using a variety of supplies. My personal favorite is creating treasures from trash! Why throw away toilet paper rolls or empty coffee cans? I also love all holiday crafts.

Experience
I have been a crafter in one form or another all my life. I have also been a day care provider and an elementary school employee. I am the mother of three. As a day care provider, I created my own curriculum program and craft projects for the kids.

Organizations
I have volunteered in many youth and community organizations including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, etc.

Publications
My craft articles and projects have been featured and/or reviewed by many publications such as Access Magazine, USA Weekend, and a few "who's-who on the Internet" books.

Education/Credentials
As an ex-day care provider and elementary school employee, I have taken various classes in child development and guidance. I have also attended many community craft classes for adults.

Arts/Crafts for Kids - bird feeders and houses

Expert: Stoop - 1/5/2001

Question
I have the ability to make feeders and houses but I need a supplier of parts such as inserts to use in soda bottle feeders, mechanisms to close platform feeders to squirrels and pidgeons. I like to use recycleable items when available. Any help on this will be appreciated. I have made bird baths out of cement & stone using trash barrel covers. These are quite heavy so I make a circle of used what ever,  about 12 inches high and place the bath on top. I have had as many as 15 sparrows using it at the same time. I also share most every thing I make. I'm retired so this keeps me off the streets. DAN

Answer
Hi Dan,

Thanks for writing.  I have directions to make various bird feeders, but it sounds like you don't need those! :-)

Not sure if these will be helpful at all ( a little outside my area of experise), but it is all I have been able to find.
