I just did my first art project with my 16 month old daughter. I had a large piece of paper (3' x 3'). I purchased some non toxic finger paints and squirted a fair amount onto paper of one color at a time. Then I dipped her bare feet into paint, had her rub her feet in the paint and walk around. We used 3 different colors. She was intrigued by the texture of the paint and the way it felt. She also like showing off the project when it was done because it was something she made. Hope this helps.
