I discovered by trying to do this that most wax paper sold in the stores is very different from the kind we grew up with- it is non-melting so that you can even cook with it.  I learned this as I ironed this kind of paper with an iron for a half an hour and burned the leaf but did not melt the paper.  Am still looking for the meltable kind we grew up with...

This is the best method for preserving leaves but the problem is finding old fashioned wax paper. The wax paper that is sold today is microwavable and does not work. I am looking for a place to buy old fashioned REAL wax paper. Any leads?
