I don't know if you are aware of this but they now make stapleless staplers.  It punches a hole through the various layers of paper and bends them together so they stay together without the use of the metal staple.  Much safer for young children and much more environmental friendly.  Perhaps an alternative to look into for daycares who cater to young children.

I'm 23 years old, and have a 2 inch long scar on the back of my hand.. it's been there since I was about 3.. the result of someone catching my hand with a staple.

I really wouldnt be happy if MY son's nursery was using staples.

Okay, theyre not deadly, but can still cause an accident that can leave your child scarred for life.
