Question
my husband and i are going to make the team banner for our daughters t-ball team and I was wondering if you know of any websites that will show us examples?  He is an artist by trade but any helpful hints on how to make this first team banner would be helpful. Thank You

Answer
Hi Nicole,

Thanks for writing.  I haven't had much luck searching for banner info - all that comes up is how to make banners for web sites! :-(

Your timing is good though, since I am working on a banner right now for my son's hockey team! :-) Since your husband is an artist, you will probably have a lot more luck than me! :-)

My banner is 3' x 4' felt made in the teams colors attached to a 3' dowel along the top edge.  I put the logo in the center and wroite the team name across the top.  I cut pucks out of black felt and wrote each kids name and team number on a puck using fabric paint.  I will attach the pucks onto the banner with velco so they can be changed if necessary. All this was made using felt.

Hope this helps a little!

Expertise

I have extensive experience working with children, and enjoy creating craft projects families can do together. Through the years, I have experimented with many different craft techniques using a variety of supplies. My personal favorite is creating treasures from trash! Why throw away toilet paper rolls or empty coffee cans? I also love all holiday crafts.

Experience

I have been a crafter in one form or another all my life. I have also been a day care provider and an elementary school employee. I am the mother of three. As a day care provider, I created my own curriculum program and craft projects for the kids.

Organizations
I have volunteered in many youth and community organizations including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, etc.

Publications
My craft articles and projects have been featured and/or reviewed by many publications such as Access Magazine, USA Weekend, and a few "who's-who on the Internet" books.

Education/Credentials
As an ex-day care provider and elementary school employee, I have taken various classes in child development and guidance. I have also attended many community craft classes for adults.
