QuestionGood afternoon,
My fiance and I are going to be staying at the Marriott Renaissance Resort & casino in downtown Oranjestad, for our honeymoon in June 2008. We are going to be staying at the adult endulgence of the Marina hotel. Any intake on this? Is it low key and fun we are in our late 20's & early 30's. Or is it more of an older crowd? Is there anywhere we should stay away from while we are on the island?Thank you in advance!
AnswerHi Victoria! The Marina hotel is more geared for adults, as being hardly any kids running around. Buile within the mall with a casino, located downtown with lots af resturants and shopping. You will also have access to their private Island, which many people enjoy, as they have shuttle boats leaving the lobby every 20 minutes. I stay there myself for a week in August, as it is quiet, clean and very upscale. One word of caution...if they attempt to give you a room at the Ocean suites, do not take it. That is mostly a timeshare facility, kids running around and screaming, and it does not make for an enjoyable stay. Not that they will put you there, but just be aware of that!Stay away areas...I do not like the city of San Nicholas. Its an industrial type city, and there are problems with drunks, prostitutes, and small time drug solicitation ( which every large city has). Other wise, Aruba is relatively safe, and just use common sense at night. If there is anything else I can help you with before your trip, feel free to contact me again!!!
