Question
Hello,
My name is Rachel.. I am 24 years old, from Boston (moving to Orlando), and like you, love the island of Aruba.  I have a lot of goals in life, and one of them is to eventually live on the island.  Not only because of my love for it, but also because my boyfriend lives there.  I have a degree in Food Service Mgmt, which I think would work well on the island because of all the hospitality businesses/hotels.. and good managers are hard to find.  Can you give me any advice on how I can make my dream become a reality?  Thank you.  I'm desperate.. my plan right now is to work for a hotel and get a transfer, but I would like it to happen in the next year or two.  I appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Rachel

Answer
Hi Rachel! To my knowledge, Aruban hotels usually do look for management/F&B Management. They are very strict on residency if you are not a native Aruban or Dutch national.
However, work permits are given out to qualified workers, but you first have to secure a position. If you visit, I would job search the many hotels and eateries on the island. Your chances of getting hired are much beter than a casual laborer. Then you will have to obtain a permit through the immigration authorities (DINA).
Luckily, your boyfriend should be able to do any preliminary work as asking if there are openings for someone with your qualifications. Thats usually the hardest part. I think with a little effort on both your parts, you should obtain your goal!
I love Boston!!
