Question
Hello, my daughter has been accepted in the Medical School.
How safe and pleasant is the Island...
Elmer

Answer
Hi Elmer! Safety wise, it is safer in Aruba than in most major cities here in the U.S. As always, common sense in where you go always helps. I feel safer waliking the street in Aruba at night time than in my own city!
Living conditions..there are great places/apartments/ homes in Aruba. I would suggest staying away from San Nicholas area, as it is more of an Industrial type of city, and a bit overcrowded. Otherwise, the food is good, water is pure and safe.
Many people write to me begging for info on how to live/retire in Aruba due to its safety and tranquility. It is hard, as they have a strict system to keep illegals out, and prevent over population.
I would say your daughter is very lucky to go there for school. and she will enjoy it there!!
