Aruba/Solo travel to Aruba

Question
I just found this site.  First of all, how nice of you to answer these questions!

I have the opportunity to fly very inexpensively to Aruba by myself (just pay the taxes).  I've traveled quite a bit by myself around the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia, but something about the Caribbean makes me a little nervous (safety, keeping myself occupied by myself).  Do you think Aruba is worth the trip by yourself?

I was looking at the Westin.  Do you think that's a good location for a woman travelling alone?  I play poker and was going to go during the Aruba Poker Classic at the Radisson and play some at the Excelsior.  Is the Westin within walking distance of these places?

Thanks again!

Answer
Hi Bren! First, let me start to say I go to Aruba every year by myself. The reasons I chose Aruba follow.
Very safe/low crime rate. Water is super pure & the best I ever drank!. Aruban people are so kind and helpful, and english is spoken everywhere. American currency is accepted everywhere.
Modern airport, safe and reliable public transportation. A huge choice of restaurants to chose from with great food. Prices are not out of sight like other destinations. Clean beaches and just about perfect weather every day. Casinos if you so desire.
I just came back a few days ago and miss it already!  I hope you do go, because once you do, you will want to return again! \You will be at the "high rise " section of the island. Everything is close and within walking distance. I think you will have a great time!
If there is anything else you need to know, please do not hesitate to contact me again!!
