Aruba/cheap lodging

Question
I've seen a few places (cottage/condo rentals) as low as $70 - $100 per night.  I even saw one place for $250 or $300 for the entire week.  Are these worth looking into or should I avoid them?  I realize most of them are not on the beach, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me.  Can you get a nice place for that much or is that doubtful?  I don't want to stay in a dump, but I don't need an all-inclusive resort either.  Thanks...

Answer
Hi Brian..Rates are higher in Aruba from December to April. ( High Season). I assume this is the period that you were quoted those rates.
Yes..there is a wide margin of rates, some being dumps and the like. However, I always recommend two places thats are in good sections, right on the beach, and will not kill the budget. First, go to www.arubabeachclub.net  and check out the pics and prices. I think you will like it there.
Second would be the Manchebo Beach Resort (which is right next door). www.manchebo.com
Others with cheaper prices are usually away from the beach, having to walk across roads and away from resturants/casinos.
I think when you view these two properties, you can make a decision.
Remember, rates will usually drop after April!
