QuestionQUESTION: We are 3-4 single women early 30s. Hope that Aruba will be a good destination for us??? Wanted to know the best place for us to stay in aruba? Heard about the hi-rise section having more nightlife...we also saw smaller places like manchebo resort and spa. which would be better for us to stay at?
ANSWER: Hi Nicole! If you like night life and activity, the high rise will fit you well. I would recommend the Holiday Inn for price and location. If you want a bit of relaxation and quiet, the low rise where Manchebo Beach resort is that way. I do recommend you go to www.arubabeachclub.net and check them out. They are right next to Manchebo, and you can share their sister facility (Casa Del Mar) if you stay there. Either place, depending on what you like, will do fine. The low rise section just gives you "room" and a non-congested feeling. Less traffic and noise, also! You will love Aruba!

QUESTION: The hi-rise section hotels seems to be running high with taxes and fees...adding on $700+. What do think of the Renaissance? How far is that from the Hi-rise area? Heard its close to restaurant and bars...is that not a good hotel or beach area? Thanks for the help!
AnswerHi Nicole.. The "Ren" is located in the downtown area, about a 5 minute ride from the airport. It is quite a distance from the high rise section of the island. yes, it is close to resturants and bars. I stay there myself for a few days when I visit the island in August. The Marina section is basically for adults ( no kids under 18), and the "Ocean Suites section" is geared for families with kids. A bit more noisy and crowded.
Beach wise, there is none, BUT..as a guest there, they have a private island with shuttle boat service in the lower lobby that will take you back and forth overy 20 minutes or less.
The island is quiet and is popular with the guests that stay at the Ren.
One thing to note, ALL hotels charge the AHATA hotel tax and energy charges. It's just a matter of the room rate difference on what you can book it for.
For info on the Ren., go to www.marriott.com click on their Aruba properties, and they have a nice selection of pics, packages, and going rates.
I myself have been going to the Ren. the past 23 trips to unwind from the travel before I go to my timeshare.
Also remember "high season" is in effect until April 15, so all rates will be higher.
