Aruba/Hot Spots for ladies
Expert: Andy Mendyk - 5/12/2010
QuestionHi Andy,
Do you know of nice "hot spots" in Aruba for young/ mid age Caribbean women? restaurants, hotels, local places, nightlife (no casinos). I am doing research and came across TONS of places but I cannot tell if they are moreso romantic and for couples? I want to really find places that locals would frequent and know about. So If I say to a local "Have you been to the new La Vista Restaurant and Bar in the Marriott" they are not like "huh?".
Can you help with a few recommendations? I will be there during Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba in May at the Renaissance hotel.
You are so kind and attentive to this board it is remarkable.
AnswerHi Kaliki!! I will try to be brief on this question! There really is not any "hot spots" for ladies in a sense. Since Aruba is geared mostly for couples, newlyweds and the like. Hot Spots in Aruba are mostly your bars. Senor' Frogs in Oranjestad and Charlies Bar in San Nicholas are the two most popular. Restaurants are plentiful on the Island and are usually busy. About the only "hot spots" I can see are when the happy hour bell rings at the bars at the resorts.
The locals really do not frequent the resort areas, but most of them are familiar with names and places.
When you arrive at the Renaissance, there is a concierge desk in the lobby. They may know of a hidden, not so well known spot. The Aruban people are very nice, friendly and accommodating.
