Aruba/Aruba in September
Expert: Andy Mendyk - 7/11/2007
QuestionHi Andy,
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon and are thinking of traveling to Aruba in the beginning of September. We are considering departing 9-6-08 for roughly 2 weeks. I have a few questions for you: Is september a good time to visit Aruba? Is this high season? What is the typical weather pattern during this time of year? What other islands can you suggest we visit if we want to see more than just Aruba? We are considering staying at the Renaissance Hotel - do you have other hotel suggestions? What is your opinion on cruises to Aruba? This would be our first trip to the Carribean and we want to make sure it's a memorable one! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions.
AnswerHi Lisa! First, September is a great month to be there. ( I leave the Island myself on 9/2) It is still considered the slow season..not crowded, not too many kids running around! Weather is delightful...a bit on the warmer side. You may find daytime highs around 90-92 degrees at times. rarely does it rain on the island, especially in the summer months. The rainy season usually starts in late October into November. The Renaissance! If you are staying in the Marina side, it is beautiful there. I stay there a few days before I go to my timeshare. You will Love Renaissance Island. If you are staying in the Ocean suites, it may be a bit more crowded, but you will still have access to their private Island regardless. Cruises...waste of time and money, especially if you want to see the Island. So many ways to tour the island either by rental jeep, or tour operators. The other nearby islands are kind of boring. Not as much flair as Aruba. You can arrange a trip to Curacao, but it is somewhat costly for a day trip, and really nothing too special to see there. If there is anything else I can help you with, do not hesitate to contact me again! Have a great trip!
