Hello Andy,

My boyfriend and I are about to take our maiden voyage to Aruba in April 2002.  We have purchased the all-inclusive package at the Divi Beach and wanted to get some recommendations on room selection? Also, how does one go about recommending rooms in advance?  Would you recommend the Divi?  I hear it has undergone massive renovations...

Hi Carolyn! While at the Divi back in September, all i notice was the entrance/check in area being renovated. The all inclusive package at the Divi is great if you eat and drink a lot! They do have a great breakfast buffet, as i go there myself. (I stay next door at the Casa Del Mar). Since the rooms are all kind of close together, you may not want to spend the extra for a beach view, since you can get to the beach within a minute walk from no matter what room you are in! So, that would be a matter of preference for you. If you wish to get the beach view, it is just a matter of letting them know (if available) and paying the extra charge. Go to www.aruba.com or www.aruba4u.com  and there are links for the Divi, and other hotels, plus more information which you will find helpfull. Also, the sun can get a bit torrid there between noon and 3pm..so bring a good sunblock!
