Aruba/Finding a Hotel in Aruba

Question
Hi Andy

I've reviewed previous answers from other questions but I'm still pondering were I should book my hotel.  I'm planning a trip toward the end of July and beginning of August.  It would be a group trip of couples(4 parties) and all of us are into similar things.

I like to find a hotel near downtown, where we can be in walking distance or taxi service to nice restaurants and bars.  Nice beach area (which I'm sure most of the hotel have nice ones) and near the casinos.  I'm trying to choose bet. Hyatt, Renaissance, and the Radisson.  My main interest right now is having a good location for activities, dining, and good service from the Hotel staff.

All of us are in the age range of 25 to 30

Any suggestion?

Answer
Carl..everything you are looking for, points to either The Renaissance Marina, or the Renaissance Ocean Suites in the downtown area. The Marina is more for the Adult crowd, plenty of resturants, great transportation options ( even the bus depot is a block away). Two casinos to chose from, one being right on the premises. Boat shuttles right from the lobby to go to Renaissance Island to a never crowded beach (only renaissance guests are here) with activities and food/drinks on the island also. Extremely quiet compared to the hi-rise hotel area, where they are always packed, and with kids running around. I stay at the Marina Tower myself for 4 days before going to my timeshare for the week. Been going tothe Ren. for the past 15 years! I think you should look into it. I go the last 2 weeks of August myself...very quiet/ no crowds!
