Aruba/casino job

Question
Hello. I will be going to Aruba in the near future by sailboat. I am a female casino dealer/inspector from Latvia (European Communtiy) and interested in the casino work situation there. Do they frequently hire foreigners in the casinos, is the money respectable, do dealers keep their tips, etc? Any and all info that can give me an idea of what to expect before arriving there will be greatly appreciated. Please reply to: bigbonjaboy@yahoo.com

Answer
Hi Baiba!  CAsinos do hire immigrants, but you need to obtain a work permit from the government to do so. Hiring outside, or "illegals" can cause problems for you, and the employer. I do know of some casinos I go to, that the dealers are allowed to keep their tips. Make sure you bring any documents required to enter/"visit" the island, as the Aruban authorities are strict on their immigration policies!
