Question
i have an expired id from the dmv. i renewed it but i got the temporary paper one without a photo id. i still have the expired id and an original birth certificate. would i have a problems with customs if i show the expired id and the renewal papers and the birth certificate? travel dates are 12/29-12/31

As long as you have the renewal papers with the original picture ID, you should have no problem at all. Just keep them clipped together. Remember, the birth certificate has to have the raised/embossed seal on it, making it an "official" copy. Enjoy your trip!
