Question
We are using a time-share exchange at the Marriott in November.  We are interested in snorkeling (no scuba) and would like to find a map/references for beaches, coves from which we can snorkel.  Also, we do like to eat out and will be renting a car/jeep.  We really do not use the Casinos or shopping (unless you could recommend a jewelry shop - it's our 10th wedding anniversary! 2nd marriage)
Thanks so much for any info you can give us.

Answer
Hi Carol!!  First, the Marriott is one of the 2 most beautiful hotels on the island!!  Glad to see you are staying there!! (Hyatt is the other)  Snorkeling....Baby Beach and Rogers Beach are the 2 best spots..they are at the southern part of the island. Stay away from the sunrise, or, the east side of the island..nothing to see, and the waters are dangerous!  Dining...never had a complaint from all the ones i visited..good food..fair prices all over the island. Shopping..usually there are always a jewelry store in the hotel itself, but check out the downtown Oranjestadt stores. Columbian Emeralds in the Seaport Shopping Mall. Gandlemans also offers good prices, but as you will notice in brochures handed out to you upon exiting the airport, there are plenty to chose from. Go to www.aruba.com  or  www.aruba4u.com    they have lots of info there for you to search..maps and all!!! If there is anything particular you may need to know..please do not hesitate to contact me again!!  If not...I know you will have a great trip!!!
