Question
Hello Andy,
I will be visiting Aruba for the first time in early June. Would you rent a car? I am interested to know what natural sights you would  suggest not missing. Also any restaurants that you would return to. Thanks a million.

Answer
Hi Carol~! For me, after 20 trips, I rented a car once. I find the taxi fares combined for a week come to a lot less then a car rental and fuel for the places I go to. Also, for first time drivers there, the road markings and signs can be a bit confusing. There are tour operators on the Island that can take you to places like the Natural Bridge, which I feel is a must-see for first timers. If you are into historical things, the indian caves and gold mine ruins are nice, and once again, these things are always on the list for tour operators to go to. When in the hotel, there are activities desks/kiosks that can help you plan these trips, and very affordable also. Try browsing www.aruba4u.com   www.arubabound.com  & www.arubaonline.com for a wealth of information before your trip. Resturants...my best is El Gaucho in downtown Oranjestad. The Churasco steak they prepare is worth the trip and the price, along with the other menu items. Best to make reservations, as it is a popular spot. I always say that I never had a bad meal in any resturant on the Island, and there are many to chose from. If there is anything else I can help you with before your trip...please do not hesitate to call on me again!
