1726 - 1745 Shrimant Sardar Ranoji Rao Scindia, Patil of Kanherkheda, son of Shrimant Jankoji Scindia, Patil of Kanherkheda. He acquired a considerable territory and possessions in Malwar. Subedar of Malwa 1736-1745. Established his headquarters at Ujjain, which remained the capital of the Scindias until 1810. A distinguished general, he took part in all the major Mahratta campaigns of his day, including Delhi (1736) and Bassein (1739). m. (first) in the Deccan, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Nimba Bai Sahib Scindia alias Maina Bai Sahiba, a woman of his own tribe. m. (second) ca. 1727, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Chima Sahib Scindia, a Rajput lady of Malwa. He d. at Shujalpur, Malwa, 19th July 1745, having had issue, five sons.
