Hi Susan,

Sorry for not reverting to you earlier, but the reason for that was because I had no further information to share with you.  I suggest (if you have not already done so!) to take the rock for a study to a museum/gallery in your city particularly if they deal with art from Asia/Middle East.  Even if they are unable to answer, they might be able to suggest the names of a few experts to you.

On my part, I mailed a query regarding this to the Guggenheim Museum and have not received any response yet.  I have also forwarded this picture to the Atkin Museum and am awaiting their responses.  Please could you let me know your e-mail id so that I could forward any revert I receive onwards to you.

The question you have asked is interesting and I would like to find a way to solving your problem.  I would probably be surfing for the details of more museums that could help over this weekend, and forward the picture onwards to them.  As and when I receive a response, I would pass this on to you.  My e-mail id is n_clyde_g@yahoo.com.
