Question
i'd like to know who has paint the history of buddha? Who is the first artist?

Answer
Hi,

Please accept my apologies for the delayed response.  I do not have regular access to a computer and I had forwarded your query onwards to the few experts I knew, and was awaiting their response.

Unfortunately, nowhere have I been able to find the name of the artist who first painted the Buddha.  It is said initially that early Buddhist art avoided the depiction of the human figure and that after the interactions with the Greeks, did the iconic form of art get followed.

The URL where you could find some useful information on Buddhist art is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_art

Please let me know if you have any other queries.

Regards,

Expertise

My areas of expertise are: 1. Ancient India (from the Indus Valley Civilisation to Harshavardhana) 2. Medieval India (from the 10th century Rajput rulers to Aurangzeb) 3. Modern India (from the decline of the Mughal rule to the Independence struggle) I am particularly skilled at dates, events and political history of these eras...not particularly with administrative aspects, though I can try and answer those as well.

Experience

I am not a practicing historian/archaeologist, my fascination for history as a subject has led me to acquiring this knowledge.
