Question
If a person is Indian and speaks Punjabi, is he considered Asian or Middle Eastern? Thank you.

Answer
Dear Rosie,

Thanks for asking the question. even though, it is out of my expertise, i will try my best to answer you.

Punjabi language is mainly spoken by Sikh community as well as Hindus and muslim. in 1947, when partition of India took place, the province of Punjab divided in 2 parts. the west punjab went in pakistan and east punjab remained in India. so punjabi is speaken in India and in Pakistan by sikhs, Hindus and muslims.

now your main question. if a person is indian or pakistani and speaks punjabi, then he will be considered as purely Asian. as the asian continent spread till Iran.

if you have any more questions, please do ask.

with best regards
Abhijit
