AnswerHi Eduard,
Are you sure you got your question correct? This is because many countries split away from the Soviet Union when it collasped. One of the reason that led to the fall of Soviet Union was the rise of nationalism. Many of the smaller states, especially the Baltic States, saw for themselves how low the living standards in Soviet Union were, as compared to other Capitalist countries like USA and UK. The Soviet Union is made up many races living together, and nationalism feelings were high because many felt that they should not be ruled by the Russians and furthermore, many felt that they could do a much better job than the Russians. It is also important to note that some of the states, especially the Baltic States, were taken over by the Russians by force after WWII. Those countries never agreed to join the Soviet Union in the first place and they had to give up their religion and culture during Stalin's period.
