Question
I have a 2 year old female jack russell terrier who, for the past week, has been uncharacteristically lethargic, almost lame. Also, she was barely eating and now not eating at all. She will not even go up and down stairs. What do you think could be wrong?

Answer
Meredith -

Have your animal seen by a doctor as soon as possible.  The veterinarian can examine her to determine if further diagnostics are needed.  Lethargy can be a sign of such as array of problems as GI upset, heart problems, arthritis pain, etc.  Do not wait for it to get better - the longer you wait, the worse you  pet may get and the more it will hit your pocketbook.

Unfortunately, I cannot venture a guess about what is wrong with your dog without first examining her.
