I can also answer questions about all phases of dental care for small animals. I cannot diagnose diseases nor will I try to. That is only for a licensed Veterinarian to do. I DO NOT do birds (unless it is wildlife or songbirds) or HAMSTERS/GERBILS/CHINS/GUINEA PIGS so please submit these questions to the appropriate sections. I also do not know much about reptiles, so post those to the reptile experts also. Thanks!

Question I am not asking for a diagnosis. I am just asking for an opinion on the seriousness. My cat has had watery stools and even a swollen anus area that is VERY sensitive. I don't know what could cause it. Also 2 of her kittens show the same signs. It just happened today and I don't know what it could possibly be.
Answer This would normally be caused by a change in diet, a sudden gastro-intestinal illness or a huge load of worms.
I would start by not switching diet, not giving any milk or human food, and getting all the cats and kittens wormed with a wormer you pick up at the vet's, not the store.
Watery stools will cause the sensitivity around the anus. Just like when we get diarrhea. It is rather caustic and can burn.
