Question
Hi my name is Gabrielle McConnell and I have a question about my puppy.  Whenever my 11 year old daughter goes to pick up my puppy shih tzu he growls.  one time he tried to bite her nose.  What should I do

Answer
Gabrielle -

I think you should seek help from a professional trainer. Animals often feel insecure when a child attempts to carry them.  Now is the perfect time to train your puppy to respect your daughter and a trainer is the person to help you do it.  It is also important for your daughter to learn how to handle a puppy;  too much handling is not good.  Have your daughter participate in the training sessions.
