Ask the Veterinarian/Tick Bite

Question
I recently found a tick (that was attached) on my 2 year old Golden Retriever.  I was able to remove it (I believe I got it all)  I also applied some peroxide to the bite spot.  After 4 days the area is still quit red and now he is scratching a bit more than normal.  I have checked him over head to toe everyday since I found the tick and I noticed some areas of skin (Different spots of his body) that appear irritated (Just slightly red).  He also seems overly touchy, when I scratch him on one side he is acting like his skin is crawling and kinda.
Am I just over reacting to the tick bite, or should I make an appointment with his vet?
Also, he is and has been his whole life on Frontline and Heartguard, but has had some minor allergies that we treat with Clemastine Fumerate

Most likely you are overacting to your dog's bite from the tick.  Usually one bite from a tick is not a big deal, but it is possible for a dog to have an allergic reaction to any bite.  Also keep in mind that different kinds of ticks carry diseases such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme Disease ( the latter which can be transmitted to people).  You should have your pet evaluated by the veterinarian.  He/she might recommend bloodwork or antibiotic therapy.
