Ask the Veterinarian/bloody stool and vomit....

Question
Just today I saw that my 5yr. old Rotweiller had bloody, mucous like diarrhea along with some watery vomit with a very small amount of blood in it also. He doesn't have any parasites, but he hasn't eaten much in the last two days. Just recently one of his house mates were stolen and I wonder if that would cause him to stop eating possibly causing the loose stools and vomit.  Please let me know, thank you for your time.

Intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion and depression can all cause bloody stool and vomiting.  The best thing to do is to have your pet evaluated by a veterinarian to determine the next course of action.  Often, with symptoms like vomiting and bloody stools, the longer the symptoms persist, the worse they become.  The worse the symptoms become, the harder the hit to the pocket book because more treatment is needed.  Your pet becomes more comfortable the quicker you seek treatment.
