Subject: a cats teeth

Question
I have a 2 year old cat, and hes been losing the tiny teeth in the front on the bottom and top. I'm concerned that he won't soon have any and it will be hard for him to eat. Is this normal or should i take him to the vet? My vet did say my cats had some tarter build up. He will not eat anything but dry food. His gums seem to be ok. Is there any chance he never lost his baby teeth, and if he did will he get new teeth or wil he be toothless now?

Answer
Hi Jessica:  He may have not lost all his baby teeth.  Sometimes the vet has to remove the teeth because they won't fall out.
I would go back to the vet and get another check up.
See what he/she says about it... Hard for me to say.

Sorry that I can't help more!
