Question
my shi tsu for about two weeks has had gel like poop with blood spots in it then today it was straight gel and blood. help..he is only 7 and my light. I am very scared.

Answer
Hi Anita:  This is very common.  It can be a problem but doesn't last too long.  If my suggestions don't help, then please give the vet a call.  ( many times a virus)

First of all, lets give this little one some cottage cheese..  Purchse the low fat cottage cheese and give 3 tablespoons full once per day.

Next, buy some Kellogs ALL Bran Cereal and give one tablespoon per day mixed into some dog food.  Make sure you are feeding a good food such as : Innova, Wellness Formual, Solid Gold or Canadide....  Great Holistic Brands with few fillers.  Excellent quality for your little one.

Last, buy some NuVET Plus Supplements/ NuVET is a Immune System Booster... This is  good for all ages and stages of a dogs life.

NuVET is one of the BEST Shih Tzu Vitamins in the USA

The gel type of substance, in the stool, is due to the small intestine working too quickly.  This can be related to stress or sometimes a virus.  Many times it will run it's course and then end as quick as it started.
The blood is because of intestine working too fast and hard.

BEST wishes...
