i have a 3 month old shitzu with allergy (still on observation stage on food d/d lamb and rice )and has pus all over his chest and tummy and back some are drying up

whats the cause of this

It seems as though your dog has severe skin problems. I assume he is being treated with medication by your vet if he/she has also recommended food.  Because I have not seen your pet it is difficult to determine the exact reason  for the skin irritation, but insect bites, food allergy, seasonal allergies are all reasons why the skin might be so irritated.

Your veterinarian can recommend medication that can help to soothe your pet's skin.
