Question
My 5 yr old dog got feverish on Sunday eve, threw up Monday morning (grass, bile, dog food), Tues took her to vet, got a shot of anti-inflamatory with something to ease her stomach and bring temp down, she rallied and seemed better by Wed & Thurs (appetite came back a little). Thursday eve, fever again, threw up again ( same) and very high fever on Friday am. Threw up again Friday during the day (3 times). Now she has welts all over her body. Gave her a buffered coated aspirin this morning ( Friday) per dr's suggestion to keep temp down. Any thoughts? The vets office is closed for the evening so I left a message for them for in the morning. I'm pretty worried. Thanks, Kathi

Answer
Kathi -

Was any bloodwork done?  The welts indicate that she may be having an allergic reaction to something in her environment or something she has ingested.

Sorry, but I cannot suggest any medication without first examining your pet; however, it seems that she may need IV fluids once you  get her to the doctor.

If she is still vomiting I would not offer her food because she cannot keep anything down.  Monitor her temperature regularly - the normal temp for a dog is 99 to 102.5.
