Answer
Linda - It is common for the blockage to have diarrhea backed up.
I can come up with a plan for you -  you will need to put him on the NuVET feline and some other supplements -  I know you tried the pumpkin but I have some other ideas -

(here they are....use them if you would like - all low cost)

***Much lower in cost than going to the vet all the time.

NuVET Feline Formula - give this supplement to him every day - mix into some wet cat food - ( the special brand you use)...
YOU have an account at NuVET - Just call and tell them about the cat and his needs for NuVET Feline ( 90 count )
1-800-474-7044   Tell them Marie is your rep -

Next - here are some low cost supplements for him... he must take them each day - hide in cheese or mix into wet cat food.
Be creative and get them into him...OK

Products for a healthy intestine - Avoid or heal the Loose Stools and Diarrhea, for good:
NATURAL AND SAFE FOR YOUR DOG OR CAT....

By-the-way - all the following product are for Humans, too-  You can take them for your belly (intestinal health), too!

Also, please buy some Metamucil powder - the fiber for Humans.... Give him 1 teaspoon per day - get the unflavored - mix into his food...

Good Luck -  I hope you try some of the options...
It must be awful to have your poop backed up...
Give this cat a chance --- he needs some intestinal help - all natural and safe.
