Ask the Veterinarian/my cat

Question
My cat is approximately 10-11 years old and she isn't herself. In the past 5 years she has been throwing up and drooling. Lately however, after throwing up, she drools, heavily, for extended periods of time, and poops, as well. At times this happens 3 times in a week. Her behavior has changed, also. She no longer runs and plays. Nor does she knead with her paws. She seems to be sleeping more. Can you give me some insight?

Please don't let your cat go another five years without seeing a veterinarian.   In fact, have her evaluated by a vet as soon as possible.   If she is drooling she may have an abscessed tooth or a stomach upset. If this has been happening for five years, I could imagine that she must be very uncomfortable.   Animals are very good at adjusting to different, even painful situations.  If she is not kneading with her paws or is not running or playing, those are signs that she is not happy.  Your veterinarian can help you develop a diagnostic and treatment plan that will suit your pet.
