Answer
Carol -

Perhaps you should talk to your veterinarian and request radiographs of your pet's neck.  If she is still painful when she walks she needs pain medication and possibly physical therapy.

If you ask your veterinarian to do radiographs and he/she refuses and also refuses to give you pain meds for your pet, perhaps you should find another veterinarian. It is necessary to help relieve pain your dog is experiencing. Pain meds are absolutely available if your pet is uncomfortable. Your vet should have pain meds for your dog; if he does not offer pain meds, then find another doctor for your pet.
