Question
Why does the mother cat keep taking one of her kittens and putting the kitten in a cardboard box. When we take the kitten out the mother keeps putting her back in box

Maybe the kitten she is removing is not a healthy kitten.  Sometimes the mother will know that one kitten is ill or too weak to survive and she will remove it from the other kittens.  

Have the kitten examined to determine if it is sick.
