Ask the Veterinarian/10 year old dog

Question
My dog has recently gotten sick.  She was throwing up about three times a day and lost a lot of weight very fast.  We thought maybe it was the flu so we haven't taken her to the vet.  We know she's kind of old and maybe it's because of that.  She is also very lethargic and drinks a lot but doesn't eat.  Please help.  We don't know what to do.  -Kiri

Answer

Your dog is sick and needs to be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible.  Do not wait until the symptoms pass over; often the symptoms do not go away  but will progress very rapidly.  A visit to the doctor will help to diagnose the problem and hopefully, correct the problems.
