Question
My 6 year old cocker has what has been diagnoised as bacterial infection after scraping his skin.  He has lost almost all of his hair all over his body.  His skin gets bumps, then they break open and he scratches himself raw.  The vet has had him on antibotics since 8/2.  I have to bathe him 2 times a week with special shampoo.  He has not and I repeat not got any better.  Is there anything you could suggest that I could get to put on his skin to help.  Would pouring peroxide on him help?  I have seen predisone mentioned would that help?  His body fells hot too.  Please Help Me.

I cannot suggest meds for your pet without the benefit of a physical exam.  However, the food you feed can also help to heal skin diseases.  Premium foods such as Science Sensitive Skin or Iams are really great help when it comes to avoiding skin infections.

I do not recommend pouring peroxide on his skin without the supervision of a veterinary professional.
