One of my cat seems to gag alot like its got a hairball. The sound is same as a human that has a cold and is coughing up flem only nothing comes out. it looks like heis chokeing, then he just stops. He is 14 years old. Should we change his diet?

Have you had your cat examined by a veterinarian?  Geriatric cats often have problems that need to be addressed by a doctor.

Your cat  may have hairballs or he may be extremely constipated most likely due to hairballs.  Your vet may request bloodwork or radiographs in order to diagnose the problem.  Take him to the vet as soon as you can; if there is a problem it will only get worse, most problems do not correct themselves.
